Career History / Professional Recognition
James D. Houghton began his career with the Charles Dunn Company in 1978.
He left in 1980 to join Dillingham Investments, Inc. developing and leasing
shopping centers throughout the southwest. In 1983 he joined The Estes
Company, now known as Vestar Development Company developing and
leasing shopping centers nationwide.
Jim’s corporate experience includes stints with W.R. Grace as Director of Real
Estate for their Grace Home Centers West division, Wickes Companies, Inc. as
Director of Real Estate for Builder’s Emporium, Safeway as Real Estate
Manager for their Property Development Associates division handling Safeway’s
surplus properties in Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and
Texas, and with The Vons Companies, Inc. as a Property Disposition Specialist.
Jim became a partner with M&H Realty Partners, a San Francisco based private
investment company focused on the acquisition, redevelopment, leasing, and
management of well located, underdeveloped shopping centers throughout
California. He was further associated with CNA Enterprises, Inc., a Los Angeles
based private real estate investment company specializing in the syndication of
shopping centers, industrial parks and office buildings throughout the Western
United States.
After more than 30 years in the commercial real estate field, Jim rejoined the
Charles Dunn Company in 2009 as Senior Managing Director in their Los
Angeles office.
EDUCATION
Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from San Diego State
University and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers
(ICSC). |
