/ RESPONSIBILITIES
Thomas K. Arai is the Regional Vice President
for the South Bay, Orange County and Inland Empire regions.
His responsibilities include oversight of the regional
property management staff, day-to-day operation and
new business development.
EXPERIENCE/EXPERTISE
Mr. Arai has over twenty three years experience
in property management, asset management, portfolio
management and acquisitions and dispositions of commercial
real estate nationwide.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- 1981-1985, Monroe & Friedlander
Management, Inc., Honolulu, HI, Vice President;
managed 20 commercial industrial and retail properties;
oversaw construction opening and lease up of a 240,000
square foot high rise office building.
- 1985 –1987, Wilshire
Pacific Realty and Management, Inc., Los Angeles,
CA, Vice President; managed 2 office buildings
totaling 440,000 square feet.
- 1987-1989, Shuwa Investment
Corporation, Los Angeles, CA, General Manager, Property
Management; Set up property management for
a 26 property portfolio totaling 3.1 million square
feet in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco
and Boston; asset manager for 9 high-rise office buildings
totaling 4.8 million square feet; involved in acquisition
of 6 office buildings totaling 2.4 million square
feet.
- 1989-1997, Karsten Realty
Advisors/Koll Investment Management, Newport Beach,
CA, Senior Vice President; asset manager for
a 15 property portfolio of 3.3 million square feet
in California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas and Indiana;
portfolio manager for 3 pension funds totaling 16
properties valued at $128 million; sold 12 properties
valued at $54 million.
- 1997-1998, Jones Lang Wooten
USA, Los Angeles, CA, Senior Vice President, Asset
Management; asset manager for two high-end
retail properties and two office buildings totaling
1.3 million square feet; involved in the sale of a
460,000 square foot office building in Honolulu.
- PM Realty Advisors, Newport
Beach, CA, Vice President, Asset Management,
asset manager of a portfolio of 12 oofice, retail
and industrial properties totaling 2.9 million square
feet in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada,
Oregon and Washington.
- Grubb & Ellis Management
Services, Los Angeles, CA, Senior Vice President,
Western Region; Oversaw portfolio of 189 office,
retail and industrial properties totaling 24 million
square feet and a staff of 150 employees.
- Insignia/ESG, Irvine, CA,
Managing Director, National Accounts; national
account manager and single point of contact for Lend
Lease, The Carrlyle Group and PMRealty Advisors; oversaw
portfolio of 32 office, industrial and retail properties
totaling 9 million square feet throughout the U. S.;
significantly increased level of service and volume
of business with each national clients.

and asset management services for a portfolio of 2
